Apply for ALL of the services available. Ignore income requirements. Sometimes there are exceptions, grants and, let's face it, people make mistakes. At least APPLY for everything. As you get the hang of it all, you will discover certain services, interventions and therapists that just aren't working with your family. Let it go. Don't take the easy route and settle for one or two services because your family is busy or you just don't want to do the paperwork. The BEST results from early intervention were kids that received 30 to 40 hours per week of one on one intervention. You can't do that by yourself. A lot of people don't want to bother with medicaid. HUGE mistake. Don't settle for a continental muffin when the Shoney's buffet is just a walk around the corner.
